Our Vision & Mission

Who we are:

Founded in 1698, we are a church that believes the good news of Jesus Christ and his kingdom will save the world. We believe that “God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” By God’s grace we try to live this message out through our words and deeds.

We are not a church for perfect people, but sinners who know we need forgiveness, not only for the healthy, but also the sick who know we need healing.

Whether you’ve grown up in a church or have never stepped foot in one, we invite you to hear & experience good news for you, for your family, and for the world.

Vision:

In early 2021, WNCC put forward a 5 year vision as we seek “rebirth” for ourselves and for our communities. You can read our vision here.

Mission:

We believe that a church is people. A Christian church is a community of people who, through worship of Jesus Christ as Lord & God, are being made into his likeness together through the Holy Spirit. Our mission is the same as that given to the first disciples:

“18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” -Mt. 28:18-20
