Vision

We all want lives full of meaning, purpose, and joy but often experience far less. More and more of us are anxious, alone, or depressed but cloak reality with virtual experience. Our lives can look good on the outside, while behind closed doors we lack connection to God and to each other. Life is not as we imagined it would be and for some the future looks bleak, even hopeless.

We have a different vision for our future — a vision of rebirth.

Our vision is one of hope and life at its best! We want our church to be a wellspring — for thriving children, joy filled marriages, young people fully alive, and vibrant community across generations. We take seriously the call to love our neighbors as ourselves, and seek to do so humbly and wholeheartedly. The fulfillment of this vision ultimately depends on Jesus. We trust that He will make us like Him, so that we can embody an authentic love of God that leads us to serve others.

As we put our trust in Jesus, we commit to seeing these five things in the next five years — this is what rebirth looks like…

Encountering God

All our hopes and dreams depend on God, the source of life. Nothing can replace an encounter with the living God. Over five years we will gather thirty times in special services or other settings to seek God together. In these times we trust that God will meet us—from the devoted disciple, to the curious or skeptical.

Authentic Community

In community we experience spiritual growth, form friendships, and see lives transformed. Whether virtually or in person, our groups will not be exclusive huddles, but rather missions — spaces where anyone is welcome! Our Discipleship team, Children’s Ministry, & Koinonia Early Childhood Center will work together so that groups become the primary way we welcome families & help them to thrive. Groups will reproduce: groups giving birth to new groups. Some will be weeks-long & others multi-year communities, but our entire vision will flow into and out-of community groups.

Empowered Youth

Our youth are the future. We are going to invest time, resources, and energy into their lives so they may grasp God’s radical love for them. Through our YAS (youth & service) ministry we will create room for them to ask hard questions, form honest relationships, find purpose, and grow into leaders. We want them to discover for themselves how faith in Jesus really matters! Our ministry will serve many more, but we will walk at least thirty through a process that leaves them marked as deeply rooted followers of Jesus — growing in their gifts and using their influence to advance the kingdom of God.

Humble Service

From creating a school soccer field in Haiti, to weekly bread deliveries to local shelters, meeting tangible needs is part of our DNA. With hunger, homelessness, and financial hardships on the rise, this work is more important than ever. Through our existing local missions work, as well as new initiatives, we will coordinate 30 catalytic events that meet tangible needs locally or globally. We will not be doing this alone, but will invite friends, family, and the broader community to serve alongside us and experience God’s love as we serve together.

Rebirth

The forgiveness, freedom, and exuberant joy of true relationship with God is too good to keep to ourselves! Ultimately, rebirth is a gift from the Father, found in Jesus Christ, and received through the Holy Spirit. We will learn to honestly and humbly share our lives with others, inviting them to know what we ourselves have experienced in our journey of faith — that God is overflowing with love and compassion. God freely gives new life to all who trusts in Christ. We will invite others into relationship with our creator, with faith that God will bring thirty of our friends, neighbors, & family members to faith in Jesus Christ.
